Our Weekly Pulls, 9/21/11

Much like Charlie Sheen, this week is winning. And to keep the analogy going, one of the biggest surprises this week is the Chthuluian horror masterpiece Mnemovore. Mnemovore asks the question “If something terrible happened (or is happening), and no one remembers it, did it happen?” which I’m sure Mr. Sheen asked about his five year stint on Two and a Half Men.

Other than that, it’s a pretty standard week for me with a ton of Marvel pulls. Once again there’s another Point One book, this time it’s Thunderbolts. I can’t recommend the Point One titles enough, all of them have been fantastic. Other than that, it’s mostly standard fair including Captain America, X-Men, and Spider Man.

Luke’s Take: The sheer volume of books that Andy pulls each week just eclipses anything I would pick up. It kind of puts me to shame, really. Or maybe it puts him to shame? I’m not really sure how geek culture works anymore…

Since I’ve decided against picking up any of the New 52, this week is slower for me than just about anyone else. I’m mostly impressed with IDW’s new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles book. The art could use a little polish, but the story is fun and it’s a return to the TMNT of the ‘80’s books rather than the kid-ified cartoon & movie version (not to impugn the cartoon – I love that cartoon).

And, lastly, Marvel’s largest event of the past several years comes to a head at the end of 2011, drawing some praise from fans and reviewers alike:
